› Looking after the voice - Condition the voice daily before singing with vocal warm up exercise and incorporate your Singing Technique to optimise vocal release. Focus on Vocal Strengthening scales and exercises with your Singing Teacher to help increase dynamics and your vocal range with guidance.
› Training the voice - Learn the best techniques that will help your voice reach its true potential using breathing for support, diction for clarity, placement for artistry and projection for dynamics. These will be the foundation for your Singing Technique to build on. Then we will be ready to look at the performance and emotional delivery of the song.
› Vocal Range - Singers strive to hit the highs notes by pushing or reaching up to them. This does not work and will result in the voice jamming up or becoming anchored. If this is your situation right now, we will help retrain your voice into its natural and correct position allowing the voice to release itself. Then there are the singers who sing in one tone only. Its important to sing the lows where needed and the techniques we use allow your low notes to not sound so low and are sung with ease. Keeping in mind that we use our speech voice to centre our voice.
› The Voice Auditions - They come and go each year and are definitely big right now. The key ingredient needed is good preparation. We will help you to choose suitable song repertoire in various Genres and refine the songs focusing on vocal artistry and artist development. You want to make a knockout first impression and really move your audience and judges. The first note will make or break the audition and what follows can be magical and moving or not at all. Discover the artist in you with guidance from your Singing Teacher and Vocal Coach/Mentor.
› Vocal Release - Learning to sing is more about singing without too much effort to avoid strain. Learn to release the Larynx to achieve your true voice with the best techniques, posture and guidance.
› Artist Development - It takes a lot of hard work to develop yourself into the star you know you can be. Singing Technique is you're foundation but much more is needed including, performance stagecraft, songwriting skills, portfolio preparation, repertoire, recording a demo, image and more that will all form part of the brand you will develop for yourself. Book a double lesson each week for 1 hour to cover both Singing and Artist Development.
